Mi casa es tu casa - Why Aristotle was not the Socialist Martha Nussbaum would like him to be

The text is a contribution to a discussion with Martha Nussbaum which followed the fourth "Münster Lectures in Philosophy", which she gave in 2000.

It main aim is a detailed critical investigation of Nussbaum's famous article "Aristotelian Social Democracy", centered around her reading of Pol. II 5. In contrast to Nussbaum's interpretation, I maintain that Pol. II 5 leaves the idea of private property untouched and that it is rather a statement about hospitality than about socialism (or even communism).

The text is published together with a reply by Martha Nussbaum.
